Alkaline Elderberry Syrup

Alkaline Elderberry Syrup

No home should be without elderberry syrup during cold and flu season. Especially a home that has children. Elderberries (Sambucus nigra) are a highly valued alkaline fruit that is used for its medicinal properties all over the world. These powerful berries flood the body with antioxidants, supply the body with fiber and enhance a person’s health by boosting the immune system.

Elderberries are full of antioxidants, as well as vitamins A, B, and C. They are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and have been used for thousands of years as folk medicine. Most historians typically trace its healing abilities back to Hippocrates, the ancient Greek known as the “father of medicine,” who described the plant as his “medicine chest” because of the wide array of health concerns it seemed to cure.
