Five Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

People have used apple cider and regular vinegar for years as a natural cleaning product. But do you know about it’s amazing health benefits?  Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a raw and unfiltered type of vinegar, which is how it gets its darker amber color.  ACV is a natural remedy that has been highly regarded throughout history.

In 400 B.C. the great Hippocrates, Father of Medicine, used it for its amazing health qualities.. I have personally used it and it has done wonders for my hair and personal heath. My brand of choice is Bragg’s because it’s  raw, unfiltered, unheated, and unpasteurized.

Organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar (like Bragg’s) also contains “mother,” which are strands of proteins, enzymes and friendly bacteria that give the product a murky, cobweb-like appearance. It is believed that the “mother” is responsible for most of the health benefits, although there are currently no studies to support this.

It Lowers Blood Sugar Levels

Apple cider vinegar lowers blood sugar and increases insulin sensitivity.  Take a couple of tablespoons before bed or add to meals. The lower blood sugar helps with type 2 diabetes.

You Can Lose Weight Faster

It helps you to lose weight by making you feel fuller. Most of the time when we hear acid, we think, “Acid isn’t good.” In this case, the acid is very good for you.  Similar to how lemon juice has citric acid that helps deliver the detoxifying  benefits of lemon water, here acetic acid has an alkaline effect on your body — and this has been proven medically to support weight loss.

Reduces Your Risk of Heart Disease

Apple cider vinegar lowers blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, which helps to reduce the risk of diabetes.

It Helps With Indigestion

A little apple cider vinegar before a meal to help with indigestion.

You Can Soothe Your Sore Throat

Combine the vinegar with warm water for a sore throat gargle rinse. It soothes the sore throat and the acidic environment helps to kill infection bacteria.
